So, come this 22nd, let's learn some interesting facts about the day and get ready to show your bartender skills. Up, on ice, or on the rocks, you will never go wrong with various Margarita cocktail recipes!

A brief look at National Margarita day

National Margarita Day 2022 rims a glass with salt and serves up an iconic drink that tastes like the summer sun- sweet, tangy, and refreshing. Whether you prefer them on the rocks or blended, this day is for you!

Known to be one of the most commonly served tequila-based cocktails in the world, the margarita consists of tequila, triple sec, and lime or lemon juice. Citrus from lime or lemon is the key ingredient, normally the freshly squeezed lime juice, but when margarita is made with lemons, it tends to have a much softer taste.

There are many legends related to the origin of the margarita. Said that, two things are certain: tequila in the cocktail, and the bartender edged the rim of the glass with salt. For instance, it is rumored that the cocktail was invented in the 1930s in Mexico. Back in that time, Margarita was first introduced as an ideal way to drink straight tequila (especially if the quality was poor. That is to take one swallow, suck on a wedge of lime, then lick a dash of salt off the back of your hand. The salt followed the lime and tequila to the margarita glass, which pretty makes sense.

These days, margaritas come in a ton of different varieties. Lime is not the only flavor, and the specialists behind the bar have gotten creative mixing infused sugars, dried herbs, and exotic salts to level up both the presentation of the glass and the flavor of the cocktail.

From peach, strawberry to mango and berry, to stronger drinks with beer, to even healthier versions like skinny margaritas and sportier cocktails, there is a wide range of flavors in each version. It doesn’t matter if you’re at home on the sofa or just finished an important meeting; grab the nearest fruit, a bottle of tequila, triple sec, and shake it up to the beat of your heart.

Margarita cocktails are healthy, too. You can get around 13% or even more vitamin C in one glass of a simple 3-ingredient margarita cocktail required for your daily intake. The drink is also absolutely gluten-free. When it comes to food pairing, you can prepare some of the great pairings, tacos, and margaritas. With margaritas and tacos combination, it’ll be a fun party.
